The dojo is located at the East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center in West Covina. Traditional Goju Ryu Karate training takes place every Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the gym.
In-house tournaments are held every other month. Students compete in kumite (sparring) and kata (forms) events.
All students start with a white belt and must be tested to earn each new rank. Promotion testing takes place twice a year for youth under 16; adults (16 and older) test once a year. The color of the belt reflects the sweat, blood, and stains of training hard. The progression of belts goes from white – yellow – green – purple – brown – black. During promotion testing, students are evaluated on their basic techniques, kata, kumite, and spirit.
Eibu Kan performs demonstrations at various locations and events throughout Southern California, including the ESGVJCC, Tokyo Central, and the School of Knowledge (2015).
